FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Privacy, providers, the trial, pricing, and what to do if a reading looks wrong.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your sign-in sessions (and any API keys you add) are stored in your Mac's Keychain and are only sent to the provider they belong to, to read your limits. We don't run a server that receives your usage, sessions, or keys, and the app has no analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs. See the Privacy Policy. Read the Privacy Policy.

Which AI tools does it support?

Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini, Cursor, GitHub Copilot and DeepSeek. Each connects with a simple in-app Sign in, using Google or email. Antigravity is coming soon.

Do I need API keys?

No. You sign in just like on the website. API keys are optional under Advanced if you want dollar-spend tracking.

Does it show daily limits?

Yes, whenever a provider reports a daily limit. Most currently use 5-hour, weekly or monthly windows, and we show exactly what each one reports.

How does the free trial work?

You get a 3-day (72-hour) free trial starting the first time you open the app. No card required to try. After that, buy a license to keep refreshing.

How much does it cost?

$4.99 one-time, personal license for up to 3 Macs, free updates for 1.x.

How do I buy and unlock?

Buy for $4.99 one-time through Stripe. In the app, choose Already bought? Unlock and enter the email you used at checkout. No license key to copy. One purchase works on up to 3 Macs. The current checkout is test mode and does not collect real money.

Refunds?

REFUND_POLICY.

System requirements?

macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon or Intel.

How often does it update my numbers?

Automatically every 5–15 minutes, or instantly with Refresh.

Is there a Windows or mobile version?

Not yet. Mac is available now, Windows is Phase 2 and iPhone/Android are Phase 3. Join the waitlist and we'll email you at launch. Go to the roadmap.

Will my license work on Windows and mobile?

We'll share pricing details when those versions launch.

Where does the data come from? Is this official?

My AI Limits reads plan-limit information through your own signed-in web sessions using unofficial, undocumented endpoints. Those services can change at any time, which may temporarily break a reading. My AI Limits is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI, or xAI.

How do updates work?

The app checks for updates and installs them in-app (Sparkle).

How do I uninstall / delete my data?

Sign out of each provider in the app, quit it, and drag it to the Trash. Optional cleanup: remove Keychain items named "com.berrybots.usagemeter" in Keychain Access and the folder ~/Library/Application Support/UsageMeter.

How do I contact support?
